The Fish Society

Skinless and boneless, our Wild Bluefin Tuna Misshapes are expertly cut from sashimi-grade Bluefin Tuna loins. These misshapes serve a variety of purposes and are perfect for creating poke bowls or tuna tataki. At our core, we take immense pride in our Bluefin Tuna, which is sustainably caught using the traditional pole and line method by our dear friends in Mallorca. Led by Toni and his experienced team, they uphold decades of expertise to ensure the utmost sustainable methods are used. While the misshapes offer a slightly more economical option, they maintain the same exceptional quality as our other sought-after cuts.

Our wild bluefin tuna misshapes are super-frozen at -60 degrees to preserve their unrivalled quality, ensuring consistency of that famous exquisite melt-in-your-mouth sensation associated with only the finest quality tuna.

Mallorca pole-and-line bluefin tuna

Atlantic Ocean
In Mallorca's bluefin tuna fishery, they utilise one-by-one catch methods. This involves targeting individual tuna using specialised gear such as fishing rods, handlines, or trolling lines. Often a combination of these is involved in the process of landing a large bluefin tuna.

Pole-and-line

This fishing method provides the most selective targeting of tuna possible, with minimal bycatch of non-target fish and marine wildlife like dolphins, turtles and sharks. Pole-and-line fishing targets schools of tuna near the ocean surface, and therefore only needs to use short lengths of line on each pole, typically  5-10m.
