To keep fish for sashimi caught in open sea fresh, Green World dispatches our own ultra-reefer carriers, M/V SEIBU, M/V SEIYU, and M/V SEISHIN to the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. We own a normal reefer carrier as well, M/V Green Cape, and she carries tuna for canned products.

Branching Out

Green World have two related companies: G-World Reefer Service, established in Taiwan to provide a better sashimi carrier service for fishery companies specialised in sashimi tuna business in Taiwan and China, and Green Marine Company, based in Hongkong and selecting sustainable pole-and-line tuna.

Green Marine was established in 2019 in Hong Kong by 3 passionate partners who possess more than 20 years, up to 40 years’ experience in the field of tuna. We select the most sustainably caught tuna, which is caught by pole and line and certified by the Marine Stewardship Council. It is our endeavour to make the whole world share a sustainable tuna market for the future generation.

Our Fisheries

Maldives pole-and-line skipjack tuna

Indian Ocean
The Maldives pole-and-line skipjack fishery has been operating for centuries and has been the lifeline of the Maldivian economy since before the boom of the tourism industry in the mid 1970s. The fishery not only provides a large proportion of the country’s income from the tuna trade and export, but also provides one of the only sources of protein for the Maldivian population, also contributing to a stable livelihood. The Maldivian pole-and-line fishery is located in the Arabian Sea within the Indian Ocean.
